Recycling Center

UPDATE (August 26, 2022):

The recycling center will be officially open on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2022. Please see the documents below for all information pertaining to the center.

“Greenpeace found that no plastic — not even soda bottles, one of the most prolific items thrown into recycling bins — meets the threshold to be called “recyclable” according to standards set by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation New Plastic Economy Initiative. Plastic must have a recycling rate of 30% to reach that standard; no plastic has ever been recycled and reused close to that rate.” The full article can be found here:

UPDATE (August 2, 2022):

Recycling is a work in progress. We are working hard to have it up and running again by September 1st. We have contacted numerous vendors in order to get the center back up for our residents as soon as possible and are hopeful to stay on target for re-opening.

The acceptable items will be posted on our web site after we receive the list from the new vendor. There will be a township employee checking each vehicle when they enter the recycling area. The first time that residents visit the center, a copy of the vehicle registration will be required for proof of residency and a sticker will be issued and need to be attached to the vehicle. This will speed up the process for future drop offs.  A flyer will be provided at that time, describing acceptable items, hours of operation as well as information regarding yard waste drop off at DAMA.  We thank you for being patient while we work hard to continue to provide recycling to our residents. We hope you will find the new recycling area easy to use while keeping the center clean and free of trash and other unacceptable materials.

Due to vendor employee shortages, unfortunately, as of JULY 8, 2022, the Recycling Center is currently CLOSED.

Our Solid Waste Recycling Drop Off location is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm every day. The bins are located behind the Jackson Township Municipal Building and Police Department and are for Jackson Township Residence ONLY.

Compost Center for Yard Waste

Jackson Township residents are invited to use DAMA’s Compost Center on Route 118. Please see below for additional information. Proof of residency is required at the center.
