Special Shredding Event

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED IN OUR FIRST SHREDDING EVENTS. It was a great success and we were able to donate much needed non-perishables to those in need at our local food bank! We will continue to host these events for our residents. A special thank you to Luzerne County for the grant opportunity and to Purple Paper Eaters for another successful shred!

Recycling Center

“Greenpeace found that no plastic — not even soda bottles, one of the most prolific items thrown into recycling bins — meets the threshold to be called “recyclable” according to standards set by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation New Plastic Economy Initiative. Plastic must have a recycling rate of 30% to reach that standard; no plastic has ever been recycled and reused close to that rate.” The full article can be found here: https://www.npr.org/2022/10/24/1131131088/recycling-plastic-is-practically-impossible-and-the-problem-is-getting-worse
